Christmas in New Zealand - by Spec

Well it is much hotter in New Zealand and the sun stays up until nearly 10pm. In England it gets dark at 3.45pm. That's really early and doesn't give you much time to play outside with your new toys.

In the last few days I helped open lots of presents and had a play in the wrapping paper. The present was three reindeer so Spot, Wonky and I went for a little sleigh ride. I'm not sure how the reindeer will cope with the heat of 30 degrees days when they are used to the frosty North Pole.

I also tried to be A+ adventurous and experimented with some 'tree climbing'. Next time I will wear a harness because the tree was on a bit of a lean and I was sure I was going to fall off!

My Holiday Adventure

This is the first blog post from our class buddy Spec. Check out the writing tool he is using and have a read about his adventures. Try giving him a positive comment or some advice on how to make his post better.

I checked out a cool site for making postcards on Story Starters. Here is the link.

I made my very own story about our sandcastle building competition. Can you read the postcard? It is a bit small. You need to do a screen-shot at the end so you can put it in your blog as a picture.

Welcome to Springston Waka Stride

Welcome to our brand new class Waka Stride.
We are in the Stride Team of three Year 3-4 classes at Springston School in Canterbury, New Zealand.

This is our brand new blog for a brand new 2015!

I am your crazy teacher - Allana, Mrs T or Mrs Taylor.  If you see AT signed in your books - that's me!
I looooove gardening, reading and having pink hair. I also love teaching kids how to be bloggers and share their learning with friends and family! I have some pretty funny glasses too! Oh, and I have a cat called Tigger.

These are our class mascots Spot and Spec. They will joins us on our learning journey. Spot is the bigger one and Spec is his cousin from England. We brought him back with us after our visit last year.

Check out Spec's blog. He is great at writing stories about when he lived in England and visited the Globe Theatre amongst other things! Spec's Blog.
