Molly's extreme reading

Mmm - I know why I didn't put this one on the blog Molly.  It needs to come with a public health  warning.

At  all times one of Molly's parents were close by checking that she didn't fall off her extreme reading post.  Please be careful with the reading place you choose.

ANZAC Day at Lake Brunner with Molly

ANZAC day service was at 2pm in the local church,i n Lake Brunner.

There was lots of people at the service.  They showed lots of photos of the men who went to war up on a big screen. We had to put our poppies into this box.

This man in the red jacket ,played the last post on his horn,it was very loud because he was just in front of us .
Many people payed wreaths and the local school children made the paper one by my feet .

These crosses represent the local people who died in the war .

Ursula's writing

There once was a girl called Fern. Her hair was like a gold medal and it was like a sandy beach. Her eyes were like a sapphire. It was like a blue tropical beach. Her skin was like sandal wood and it was like burnt pine.

She was very adventurous and had a pet turtle. It was as green as seaweed. Fern found a seashell and it was orange like a Hawaiian flower.

She lived in a little wooden tent that was made out of pine. It was like a wooden bridge. She loved living there. She thought it was the best house.

Independent Learners

In waka stride we are learning to be independent learners. We have made a korowai /cloak to remind us  what to do.  The leaves on the Korowai says lots of things we do, like we use two cm voices which is the same as a whisper. We show respect to people. We have must dos for reading and writing and lastly running back to class fast when the bell rings.

This is what I started with
In Waka Stride we are learning to be independent learners. We have made a korowai or cloak to remind us what to do.
We need to be ready for learning, teach other kids, finish the must dos, show respect, explain our learning and have 2cm voices.

This is our korowai.
We want to be independent learners.

Evidence of Team Work

Check out what our success criteria for working as an effective team was. Using these skills we managed to put the 'shower curtain puzzle' together. This is a good way to show our learning at the end of Term 1.
