To be in the Step Team, Tongariro Waka we must show kindness, show respect and do our best. That way we all all paddle in the same direction.

Chamberlains Ford
Yesterday we went to Chamberlains Ford to to learn about... Aqua life, bird species and planting. My favourite activity was planting the native trees. For planting you need to follow these steps:
1. Dig a big hole
2. Massage the plant
3. Take the plant out with your 'peace' fingers
4. Place it in the hole place the fertiliser tablet at the front side of the hole
5. Fill in with the soil and stay to get rid of air bubbles
6. Place the woollen mat around the plant
7. Insert three bamboo poles around the edge
8. Cover them and the plant with the plastic sleeve
9. Place in the last pole and use the hammer to make them tight
10. Put away the container and tools
Well done on planting a native tree! By Ben.

Chamberlains Ford
On May the 21st we went to Chamberlains Ford for a school trip. I was lucky enough to get a interview with the radio people they asked me some questions about what we are doing. I said "we are doing it to make the tuis come back ".
The first thing we did was a a a with enviro schools Matt. We had to use all different kinds of tools to find out what types of beaks work best. For example - 2 spoons together, pliers, tweezers and some chopsticks.
Next we went to the water with Sophie. We had to get a net and a bucket then we went into the water excitedly some people didn't really like it.
Then we had some lunch mmm. Then we went planting. It was amazing because we got to dig , plant and protect the plants it was hard work. We went back together as a group and said our goodbyes and then hopped on the bus.

Nate's Reflection
This week I have learned how to do a proper paragraph.
I remembered to use capital letters and have a key sentence.
Next time I will use full stops when I edit my work.

Reflection and rotation maths.
This is my reflection:
We learned how to rotate a picture. We did it by turning shapes 90 degrees. And learnt how to turn 180 degrees - like a merry go round. I am proud of my work.
